The Penn State Harrisburg team of students Austin Barket, Isaac Polinsky, and Siddharth Dahiya placed 17th in the United States and 120th in the world, in the IEEEXtreme 7.0 Programming Contest, held on October 26. The contest is sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

As we begin to experience more winter weather, here are some important reminders related to college operations during periods of inclement weather conditions and weather-related emergencies.
Penn State Harrisburg will join Middletown Mayor Robert Reid, Middletown Area School District officials, and the Middletown Historical Society to open a time capsule placed in the cornerstone of the Alice Demey Elementary School building when it was built in 1953. Open to the public, the event will take place on Saturday, December 14 at 1 p.m. at the Demey School, located at Wharton and Catherine Streets.
Penn State Harrisburg will host an Academic Perspectives on Current Events discussion entitled “Is Government Intrusion into Our Privacy Justified by Provision of Greater Security?” on Wednesday, December 11, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Olmsted Building Gallery Lounge.
