Borough of Steelton doesn’t condone use of marijuana: Letter to the Editor

Posted

This is in regard to the April calendar printed in the March 27 issue. The borough of Steelton periodically sponsors the monthly calendar as we did for April. The calendar lists Saturday, April 20, as National Pot Smokers Day.

Steelton borough has been progressive on the subject of marijuana having the first medical marijuana dispensary in Dauphin County which opened last year. The borough council also approved a paraphernalia ordinance in 2012 and just recently approved the decriminalization of a small amount of marijuana ordinance this month.

However, since recreational use of marijuana is illegal in Pennsylvania, we do not support or condone this or any illegal activity. The public needs to know that we did not have any developmental or revisionary responsibility in the preparation of this calendar.

Maria Romano Marcinko
