teampic12 4 13 webLower Dauphin and Cumberland Valley played a football game worthy of its championship moniker at Hersheypark Stadium – and when it was over, Lower Dauphin proved a worthy champion.


The Falcons used outstanding efforts in all three facets of the game to defeat the Eagles, 24-13 in a classic District 3 Class AAAA championship game on Saturday, Nov. 30, earning LD its third district title and just its second in AAAA play in the past 18 years.


Following a pass interference penalty that negated a would-be game-clinching interception by LD’s Jake Shellenberger with under a minute remaining, the Falcon defense left no doubt when Trey Klock recovered a fumbled Cumberland Valley snap with 12 seconds left to play.


One kneel-down by Lower Dauphin quarterback Troy Spencer later, the celebration was underway.{jcomments on}
