Fluke, Truesdale honored by MAHS as Students of the Month

Sarah Ann Fluke and Kyle James Truesdale are the Middletown Area High School Students of the Month for December.

Sarah is the daughter of Nicole Fluke.

She is president of concert choir, and is in select choir, district choir, region choir, All-State choir, county choir, concert band and marching band (treasurer), jazz band, fall play and musical. She is president of MAHS GSA, and is in Link Crew and National Honor Society. She is president of Tri-M music honor society.

She is an activities attendant at the Hershey Lodge and also interns with Mary Checco (music teacher) at Robert G. Reid and Lyall J. Fink elementary schools

She plans to study music education at Ithaca College, Susquehanna University or West Chester University.

“Thank you to those that chose me for this honor, and thank you to everyone that continues to motivate and encourage me to keep working hard and be myself,” she said.

Kyle is the son of Jody Truesdale and Ramie Truesdale.

He plays football, baseball and basketball. He is involved in Mini-THON, Key Club and P.R.I.D.E. Club. He is Student Council and Class of 2018 vice president.

He helps with the Middletown basketball youth camp and Middletown football youth camp.

He has been named a first-team all-league linebacker, defensive MVP, and is a two-time district champion and two-time eastern state champion, and won the Mel Fager Award. He works at Get Air trampoline park in Harrisburg and is a lifeguard.

He plans to attend the U.S. Naval Academy or U.S. Air Force Academy.

“It’s an honor to be chosen among all my peers and is a very humbling experience for me. Being honored through this has given me a newfound sense of motivation to continue my athletic and academic success to the best of my ability for my last few months at Middletown,” he said.
