Born on September 18, 1934, in Royalton and raised in Steelton, she was the daughter of the late Henry Baker Sr. and Thelma Hemperly Suhina.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed spoiling her family with her baking and candy making; and was a doll collector, enjoyed playing cards, watching sports particularly the Steelers and NASCAR, bowling, and spending time on the river riding on her pontoon boat. She loved the holidays especially Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter, but most of all she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her infant son Michael C. Wells, two brothers Charles Baker and John Suhina, and a sister Nancy Ulrich.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Gerald R. Wells Sr., whom she married on July 5, 1952; three daughters Nancy E. Wells of Hummelstown, Robin K. Moyer, wife of Tim L. of Enola, and Tawn R. Boltz, wife of Douglas C. of Palmyra; one son Gerald R. Wells Jr., husband of Angela K. of Middletown; one sister Kayann Seese of Idaho; two brothers Edward Hemperly of Idaho, and Henry Baker of Harrisburg; eight grandchildren Annissa, wife of Sean Lingle, Jeremy, Richard, Robert, Rachel, Madison, Amanda and Brandon; six great-grandchildren Sean Michael, Joseph, Dylan, Cameron, Tyler and Lillyana; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Glenda’s life was held on Sunday at Gravel Hill United Methodist Church, Palmyra.
To honor Glenda’s decision to be an organ donor to give several people a second chance at life, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Gift of Life Donor Program, 401 North Third Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123.
