EARLIER STORY:

Lower Swatara Twp. has closed Longview Rd between Cockley and Strites roads due to drifting snow.

Township Director Frank Williamson noted the Township's Public Work crews are on site this morning to try to have it open for the morning commute.

The road closure includes the intersection of Ebenezer Rd. and the 600-1000 block of Longview.

Williamson added other roads are also experiencing drifting but are passable.

"Motorist encountering drifting snow should exercise caution." Williamson added. "Drifting snow can be deceptive as to its depth. Numerous cars required assistance after becoming stuck Wednesday night."
