Mary L. Lehman


Mary L. Lehman, 87, of Middletown, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at The Bridges of Bent Creek in Mechanicsburg, Pa.

Mary was born on May 10, 1930 in Middletown, where she lived for her entire life. Mary was the daughter of the late Samuel and Elizabeth (Snavley) Gruber.

She was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church, Middletown, where she was a Sunday school teacher and a choir member for 38 years. She was also a Meals-On-Wheels driver for over 30 years and a Care-A-Van driver as well.

She enjoyed camping, traveling, playing poker with her friends, and watching all Pennsylvania sports teams play, but her greatest joy of all was her family, especially her loving grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, William (Bill) E. Lehman Sr. and 10 siblings.

She is survived by her two loving children, William E. Lehman Jr. and his wife Brenda of Mechanicsburg, and Vickie L. Hubbard and her husband Edward of Elizabethtown; seven grandchildren, Will, Tommy, Sarah and Christian Lehman and Eddie, Ethan, and Jackie Hubbard; and her special four legged-friend “Peaches.”

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Evangelical United Methodist Church, Spruce & Water Sts., Middletown, with the Rev. M. Lee Ellenburger officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the church.

Inturnment will take place at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s name to the Harrisburg Humane Society, 7790 Grayson Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17111.

The family has entrusted the care of the Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 260 E. Main St., Middletown with the funeral arrangements.
