Mahnoor Azim, Middletown Area Middle School

Mahnoor has been a R.A.I.D.E.R.S. award recipient every month, earned the Distinguished Honor Roll every quarter, and was the eighth grade Veterans Day Essay winner. Mahnoor is active in Girls Scouts and volunteers at Penn State University in the summer.

Mahnoor would like to thank the following teachers for their impact on her during her two years at MAMS:

“Mrs. Alison Chambers is our class mom because she cares about everyone so much as a person and makes everyone feel special. I mostly love her because she sometimes accepts things late for full credit. Although she gives us too many IXLs to do, I am so grateful to be in her Honors English Language Arts class.”

“Mr. Mark Mohar is my math teacher and this year in his class has been amazing. He makes math seem fun, unlike any other math teachers. Mr. Mohar wants his students to succeed so he doesn’t help us solve difficult problems until we have attempted to try the questions. He explains everything really great, and if we don’t understand, he explains it all over again, trying a different method. It has been a fun year in his class.”

Regarding her start at the high school next year, Mahnoor said: “I am excited, yet terrified at the same time. But I do look forward to the Health Science Pathway and all the different clubs I’ve selected.”

Nathaniel selected the following individuals as teachers of influence during his MAMS years.

“Mr. Mike Zupanovic, English Language Arts teacher, because he’s taught me that learning and coming to school can be fun and engaging.”

“Mr. Chris Etter, Social Studies teacher, because he’s taught valuable life lessons and people skills, even if it was indirectly.”

Nate thoughts about entering MAHS: “Next year I’m looking forward to having more freedom and responsibility. Also, to grow as an individual.
