Harrisburg police are looking for a Highspire man in connection with a shooting in the city Tuesday night that resulted in the death of a Middletown man, officials say.

The victim was identified by Dauphin County Coroner Graham Hetrick on Thursday as Kodi Marcus Flanagan, 22. Flanagan listed a Middletown post office box as his address, according to Hetrick’s office. Hetrick was not available for further comment.

There were many messages of condolence on Facebook.

The incident occurred about 6:30 p.m. in the area of North 3rd and Muench streets, according to Harrisburg police.

According to WGAL Channel 8, Flanagan was pulled out of a car with his girlfriend and child inside, then beaten before he was shot. Police said that Flanagan was taken to the hospital, where he died later.

Harrisburg police are looking for Sidney Michaels of Highspire, who is being charged with homicide and robbery related to the incident, according to WGAL.

Harrisburg police told Highspire Borough police that Michaels is being sought as a “person of interest” in connection with the shooting, said John McHale, the Highspire borough manager and police chief. Confirmation was not immediately available from Harrisburg police.

Harrisburg police are asking anyone with information on the incident to contact Detective Nicholas Licata at 717-255-3189, or via email Nlicata@cityofhbg.com; or Sgt. Kyle Gautsch at 717-255-3170 or via email Kgautsch@cityofhbg.com.
