Middletown police investigating possible murder-suicide on South Union Street

Middletown police Saturday night were investigating what police are describing as a murder-suicide that took place in the 100 block of South Union Street.

Borough police had been called to the scene earlier in the evening to do a welfare check, only to discover “multiple fatalities,” according to information posted on the Middletown police Crimewatch site.

“Preliminary indications” are that the incident is a murder-suicide, police said.

Borough police were not releasing any further information Saturday night.

Police and members of the Capital Region Forensic Unit were seen going in and out of a multi-story apartment building just south of the M&T Bank branch on South Union Street.
