The hoped-for matchup that a lot of fans had wanted never happened – Northern Lebanon spoiled the party.

Annville-Cleona did its part, beating York Tech on Friday, Dec. 6 in the opening round of the Annville-Cleona Tournament to reach the tourney championship game. But Middletown fell to Northern Lebanon in the opener and had to settle for the consolation game.

What the fans had anticipated was a faceoff between Middletown and Annville-Cleona for the title that would have pitted Blue Raiders Coach Chris Sattele against his former assistant, Chris Bradford, who had taken over the head coaching position at Annville-Cleona this fall. Instead, the Dutchmen took on Northern Lebanon in the championship on Saturday, Dec. 7. In that game, Northern Lebanon walked away with the tournament trophy with a 77-57 win over the host Dutchmens.

After suffering a humbling defeat at the hands of Northern Lebanon, Middletown bounced back with a pleasing 75-40 victory over York Tech in the early game on Saturday for a third place finish to even their early season record to 1-1.
