A “large amount” of silver bars and coins was stolen from inside Saturday’s Market by someone who climbed on the roof of the market, cut a hole in the roof, and then slid down using a ladder, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The incident occurred between 1:20 and 4:30 a.m. Thanksgiving, Nov. 23, police said in a news release that was issued early Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 5.

Once inside the market, police said the suspect broke into a large safe by cutting through multiple layers of steel and concrete.

The suspect removed from the safe an undisclosed amount of silver bars varying in weight, and coins, according to police.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call State Police in Harrisburg at 717-671-7500.
