Seniors Orner, Carson wrap up MAHS bowling careers

 The Middletown bowling team hosted Northern on Thursday, Feb. 23, at ABC East Lanes, and it was senior recognition day for Middletown’s two seniors and co-captains, Mitch Carson and Caleb Orner.

The Blue Raiders won all three points. They took Game 1, 803 to 786, and Game 2, 849 to 754. They won total pins, 1652 to 1540.

High scores for the Middletown squad were Orner’s 212 game and two-game set of 382; and Carson’s 189 game and two-game set of 352.

They finished the Harrisburg Area Interscholastic Bowling League in fifth place. The league was won by Central Dauphin with Cumberland Valley finishing in second place, just 1 point behind.

The season high team game for Middletown was 976 with a high series of 1866.

The high average for Middletown was Cody Brunner with a 202 average. He qualified for the Eastern PA Interscholastic Regional Bowling Championships, held March 3 at Leisure Lanes in Lancaster, with the top 12 there advancing to the PA State High School Championships on March 17.

Brunner rolled a five-game series of 799 (146, 165, 184, 150, 154) to finish 161st out of 190 bowlers.
