Speaking Event: Author and Victim's Rights Advocate Jennifer Storm
Author and victim’s rights advocate Jennifer Storm, will appear at Central Penn College on Thursday, Nov. 8, at 6 p.m.
As a content expert on victim’s rights issues, a survivor of sexual assault and an outspoken advocate, Storm speaks frequently about her role in working with survivors of abuse and violence, and her personal story of survivorship and recovery from substance use.
We need to begin making vital lifesaving connections between trauma, victimization and addiction,” says Storm. “I watch as light bulbs go off in the minds of victim advocates, drug and alcohol professionals and others working in both disciplines.”
Storm will sign copies of her memoir, Blackout Girl, which will be available at a discounted rate of $10. All proceeds will go to fund substance abuse treatment. Note: all sales are cash only.
This event is free and open to the public. Registration is required, however.
Doors will open at 5:45 p.m., and there will be a light dessert reception from 7:30 – 8 p.m.
