A Steelton woman has filed a lawsuit against the Steelton-Highspire School District and officials of a youth basketball league that claims she was injured after falling on ice near Steelton-Highspire Elementary School in 2014.

Jame Clair’s attorneys filed the suit in December in Dauphin County Court against the district and Joe Albert, Mike Albert and Eddie Albert, who are affiliated with the Steelton Midget Basketball League. Clair is seeking $50,000, the suit says.

Clair fell near an entrance of the school on ice Jan. 5, 2014 and suffered three fractures in the lumbar spine, according to the complaint. Clair continues to suffer pain and impairment, the complaint said.

The lawsuit alleges the district and basketball league did not salt or melting agents on the walkways, nor did it post signs of the dangers of ice on the walkways.
