Three people were reported injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred at the intersection of East Harrisburg Pike (Route 230) and Deodate Road in Londonderry Township at 3:10 p.m. on Wednesday, August 29.

One of the people injured sustained severe head trauma, according to Pennsylvania State Police. All three people injured were taken by ambulance to the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

State police in a news release said that the accident occurred when a 1998 Pontiac Bonneville heading north on Deodate Road driven by Effie Brandt, 86, of Mount Joy, entered the intersection of 230 and Deodate Road into the path of a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Colleen M. The Tahoe struck the driver's side of the Bonneville, police said. Brandt had a suspected serious injury, while a passenger in Brandt's car, 24-year-old Taylor Mumma of Bainbridge, and Kwiatkowski both received suspected minor injuries, police said.

The accident involved entrapment, according to information posted on the Facebook page of Londonderry Township Fire Company, was dispatched to the scene.

Middletown Volunteer Fire Company also reported being dispatched to the scene.

State police also requested additional fire police from Elizabethtown and from Lower Swatara and Swatara townships, according to the Londonderry Fire Company Facebook post.
