What do you like most about spring?: LaVonne Ackerman

Former Middletown resident Andrew Hurst previewed material from his forthcoming book project titled “Boy and Island” on Thursday, March 28, at the Tattered Flag Brewery and Still Works. His father, Jim Hurst, was a founding member of People Against Nuclear Energy and was one of the noted figures during and following the accident at Three Mile Island on March 28, 1979. Andrew is an artist living in Brooklyn, New York. His book will chronicle how the accident affected his family, father, mother Anne and sister Leigh, as well as offer his perspective about life’s incidents and their influences on seemingly unconnected people and places. More than 50 people attended the event. The presentation also featured a self-produced documentary about the accident and its aftermath from his perspective.
