What will be at Middletown area's National Night Out

“While we’re getting back to basics for this year’s National Night Out for the Middletown area this year, we can guarantee the community will have plenty to enjoy next Tuesday,” said Middletown Police Officer Adam Tankersley, coordinator of this year’s event.

National Night Out for the Middletown area is Tues., Aug. 1 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Hoffer Park off Mill St. in the borough.

Following is an updated list of what will welcome the community at this year’s event:

Booths

Boy Scout Troop 97/Pack 97; Caring Hearts Pet Therapy; Crime Watch; Dauphin Co. Victim Witness Program; Dayspring Ministries; DJ Carnes; DUI simulation course with field sobriety tests; Exelon Corp.; Feel Your Boobies Foundation; Fighting Addiction Middletown Style (FAMS); Fink Elementary School PTO and Head Start Classrooms; Harrisburg International Airport; MABA; Middletown First Church of God; Middletown Home; Middletown Kiwanis Club; Middletown Youth Club; Nixle; Open Door Bible Church; Penn State Harrisburg Athletics Dept.; St. Peter’s Church; Smoke House; Suez Water; ZooAmerica.

Kids’ zone

Bounce house; bounce slide; dunk tank.

Refreshments

Hot dogs; chips; ice cream; popcorn; drinks including water, tea and lemonade. The National Night Out Committee reminds area residents to remember to bring IDs showing they’re residents of the 17057 area (including the Mtown School District). A wristband will be given to residents to obtain the free refreshments.

Tour of historic homes

In addition a guided tour of historical homes in Middletown via a trolley will take place throughout the evening.
